AstraVue 4.3 RC2 Product Boundary Monitor
Read-only PBM authority, player-integration boundary rules, V26H audit, subscriber adoption gates and next-change block.
AstraVue 4.3 RC2 · Major No-Video Bug Fixed
RC2 documents the browser-safe source-contract repair for Astra Lab test playback. This is a product release-candidate update, not a player-engine rewrite.
AstraVue 4.3 RC2 is the current adoption baseline
Full AstraVue release history, including RC1 feature baseline and RC2 no-video fix, is available from Product Management → View History.

AstraVue Boundary Rules
- Playback engine logic belongs inside AstraVue.
- TV/Core pages consume AstraVue client/contracts only.
- No direct copied player logic in TV platform pages.
- Player/runtime changes must pass PBM and explicit product-owner discussion before reuse in other pages/apps.
- PBM normalized V26H/V26H4 and approved the next correction only as product-wrapper canonical source binding, not a player/runtime feature change.
- PBM status: source repair is allowed only because it restores a known-good Product Management test fixture; no player/runtime feature was changed.
Current AstraVue Player Bug Audit
- Overview and Player Engine are the two AstraVue Product Management pages with player surfaces.
- V26G/V26G2 proved Player Engine can decode video, then video/video-js nodes are removed after runtime initialization.
- V26H/V26H4 removed wrapper hydration mismatch and switched product wrapper preferredEngine from videojs to auto.
- PV3B4A9V26M normalized earlier V26H/V26H4 wrapper work under PBM: client-only wrapper and auto engine are retained as PBM-documented product-wrapper corrections.
- Post-wrapper check still showed video removal, narrowing the issue to AstraVueProductRuntimeShell child player lifecycle.
- PV3B4A9V26M changes the Product Management test source from a 360p child playlist to the canonical master HLS manifest, avoiding source-normalization reattach/dispose churn without touching player internals.
- PV3B4A9V26M2 normalized V26M under PBM: canonical master source was rejected because direct CDN returned HTTP 404, so Product Management source is restored to the valid 360p HLS playlist.
- PV3B4A9V26S/T found the active no-video cause: direct CDN HLS playlist was browser-blocked by CORS, while existing AstraVue HLS proxy returned EXT-M3U with 866 segments.
- PV3B4A9V26U applies existing product-owned same-origin HLS proxy source contract for Astra Lab browser playback; player/runtime/engine files remain untouched.
- AstraVue 4.3 RC2 accepted: no-video bug fixed through wrapper source contract using existing same-origin HLS proxy; no player/runtime/engine mutation.
- No player engine, runtime shell, media, B2/CDN, DB, TV/Core consumer, or app-specific player patch is approved from this page yet.
